Pero, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 esta flor es<br>caracter\u00edstica de esta festividad?, su origen es el siguiente:<br>Cuenta la leyenda que existieron dos ni\u00f1os Xochitl y Huitzilin que con el paso del tiempo se enamoraron perdidamente. Era tanto su amor que un d\u00eda subieron a lo alto de una gran monta\u00f1a donde sab\u00edan que habitaba<br>Tonatiuh, el dios del sol, pidi\u00e9ndole que bendijera su amor, incluso, sobrepasando las barreras de la vida, Tonatiuh, al verlos tan enamorados les otorg\u00f3 su bendici\u00f3n.<br>Una guerra lleg\u00f3 de manera inesperada y Huitzilin fue llamado para defender a su pueblo, al paso del tiempo Xochitl recibi\u00f3 una terrible noticia, Huitzilin hab\u00eda muerto. Su dolor fue tan inmenso que subi\u00f3 a la monta\u00f1a para rogar a Tonatiuh que la reuniera con su amado, y \u00e9ste conmovido por el sufrimiento de la joven, lanz\u00f3 un rayo que al tocarla la convirti\u00f3 en un capullo amarillo, del mismo color que \u00e9l. En esa flor, se pos\u00f3 un colibr\u00ed en el<br>centro, la peque\u00f1a ave era Huitzilin y apenas \u00e9l lleg\u00f3, la flor se abri\u00f3 en veinte p\u00e9talos liberando su hermoso aroma.
